Grazz's birthday celebration was cool stuff ^_^ Kite-flying is actually really thrilling (and tiring). I love our birthday celebrations because we are friends who have stuck by each other for so long and we always make time for each other on birthdays even though time has become such a precious commodity now. ♥

Went to netball without knee guard yesterday night :( I am so degenerating. Umpired one quarter and it was pretty good. I'm sure, though, that I won't be taking up any of those offers to do official matches cos' I will never get down to doing the practical test and it's simply too much stress for me :/ And my elevation is at its lowesttttt now :( But all in all, it was a good night.

Post-exams have just been really lazy x) I set out to do leisure reading but evidently my other leisurely activities always nudge into priority.

Exams have ended and I'm just so bored. A pretty unexciting post-exam period really.

Stayed at Carls' Junior for a while in the afternoon and we had the most unexpected of topics accompanying the giamongous burgers. Time is really creeping up on us. I remember someone saying, "If you're 18 and you think you know everything, you're a fool. If you're 80 and you think you know everything, you're still a fool." Yes, life eludes me and it's the only form of ignorance I grow to appreciate.

Apart from that, I personally really dislike dependence and ignorance. But I know I'm not insulated from them both.

And I've decided that if there's this one occupation I can and want to take up, I'll wanna become an architect. Cos' I really like buildings and I can just imagine the sheer satisfaction seeing my drawing standing concretely before me. ^_^

All I'm hoping to get out of Taiwan is a renewed spirit to buoy me through the routine of student life.

Ugh, I think I'm feeling the exam-stress already :( Things are getting on my nerves very easily. My first paper starts in a few days time and my last one ends in, uh, a few days time too >.< That leaves me with very little/ insufficient time for revision. And I think I'm thinking about it more than I am doing something about it. But I also think that once I start studying, I'll panic even more.

Summer holiday is coming and it promises to be rather exciting. But I don't really want it to come because it'll mean exams come even faster and I'll get back results thereafter. Plus I'm almost this sure that it'll zoom by all too fast which also means freshman year will be over. I want to remain a junior. >:( I like what I'm studying in school now and college has been the best kind of education (academic wise) I've had since many many years ago (reminds me that I'm old enough to have that many years of schooling under my belt zzz).

I should really start reading.

I don't think I've ever aired anything really opiniated here. But today I've decided and I will make my stand. British pop music trumps American pop music majorlyyyyy!! Except maybe I still favour Eminem more but then he's not really in the pop scene but more of the rapping league so yessssss British pop ftw ♥

American pop is really catchy and fun. But kinda temporal. British pop, on the other hand, is smoother, and I guess more old school in a way. And it really infects you (me). A little less upbeat but mellow. It's the type of music I'll wanna listen to on a rainy day when I need good music most.

Happened to catch Take That Live @ O2 new year's eve concert on channel 5 this evening and zomg I have never ever realised they are so brilliantly good! The way they harmonize makes me melt. Charming much. And they sound very awesome live! Not that I was there to watch them in action, but then the tv recording of it was really well done. I personally do not prefer live music over recorded ones but Take That is honestly, honestly the first band I find so charming performing live and I even think their voice live beats the recorded version I get over YouTube! Plus the choreography of their dances and all the amazing tech tricks they use were like wow. So charismatic, really ^_^

And I think I like Howard Donald best from the band. He looks so suave and I think I'll totally swoon at the sight of him if I ever get to see him. But it's such a pity that like many other famous stars, his personal life isn't as pretty as I wished it could have been. Will definitely give him a hundred brownie points for being a perfect dad/husband but I don't really get that impression from what I read off the net. Haha, ok evidently, I spent my night learning about the band x)

Too bad I didn't finish watching the recorded concert before heading out for dinner. Maybe I can watch it again another time :)

I think this has been a really emotionally/opinions charged post and probably the longest in a while. The power of music! ♥

Bumped into many KR friends these couple of days and it really makes my day. Chatted a while with Tina and I really miss being around my neighbours. And I missed YiNi's birthday celebration too :( Went for KR Bazaar though, and it was just so nice to see everyone again. Had a very enjoyable bus ride on the D bus back to hall with C-blockers and Wendy. Parted at the front gate and I wondered how things would have been like if I stayed on. Would have been very fun, for sure. But probably very tiring as well.

Now I just feel like a lazy couch potato.

The weather is incredulous. It is steaming hot. And I was perspiring while driving along the ECP because I wasn't on the lane with the shade of the trees -_- I feel like the chawanmushi I make. Stayed in the room with the air-con for as long as I was at home except for the one hour when I sat myself in front of the tv because implicit in the way my house was organised is that tv+aircon is too much luxury for everyone. To me, college without Kent Ridge would be like a much more expensive high school education with a lot more travelling to be done.

But I've sorted my priorities.

It felt really awesome to be doing goal-keeping for the floorball friendly today. And I was so proud of my teammates, how far we've come as a singularity. Today felt exceptionally good for me. The shots were easy to cover, I instinctively covered the sides of the goal, stuck out my leg at the right time to stop a far shot, glide across the goal fast, stepped up. And when I had my eyes fixed on the floorball, nothing else came into mind. It felt great to have my brain freed up in that few precious minutes, just enjoying the game. It was intense.

But that's the last time I'm ever doing that.

I didn't know how to react to people after I broke the news. I just didn't. A part of me really wants to stay on but the other part decides to be a smartass know-all and act logically.

It's hard to stick by priorities.

Thanks for being understanding, each and every one of you. I've been feeling awful today but I don't know how to let it all out.

I loved the sun and its brightness for the whole of daytime today. It was the type that encourages you to step out and just bask in the warmth for a while, go skating by east coast park and have a healthy doze of fun. Y'know, I'm thinking it contrast with the kind of days where the heat just make you feel lonely because everyone else is out and you're in. But I didn't even step out of the house today. And I was perfectly fine with that. Cos' I was happy even if I were only viewing the crisp sunshine while camping in my room.

I read my storybook and did practically nothing else worth mentioning. The book is very enjoyable. ^_^ I can't wait to race to the last page but I don't want the story to end. Brilliant. There was for this split second today when I felt once again how I did about eight months ago when a decade's worth of wreck was piled onto me. But the book saved me, grins. :)

Once, I asked my mom why stars shine. She said they were night-lights, so the angels could find their way around in Heaven. But when I asked my dad, he started talking about gas, and somehow I put it all together and figured that the food God served caused multiple trips to the bathroom in the middle of the night.

Almost a week into the semester break and I'm already feeling like the holiday is slipping away way too fast >.< Not to mention that I don't think the break is sufficiently long.

I thoroughly enjoyed Settler's Cafe dinner, stayover at Bernice's with TheFourOfUs (like finally!) and Jon's birthday gathering. ^_^ It is always nice to meet up with friends, friends and friends. Ahh, but I haven't been doing almost anything (yet)! As usual, I've almost fully caught up on all lost sleep x) but that's about it.

Would love to clean up my room through and through, once and for all. But I have a faint heart and lack the courage to start, gasp. Cos' I know the years of mess accumulated cannot be dealt with in a matter of days, oh no. I will resolve to start before the year ends though!

And I will also: read a book/ read more chinese/ finish up the half-painted chair. (but i know i wouldn't really get down to doing everything haha)

Sports trainings are starting in two days and I think my schedule is already mostly packed because of the horrendously long hours of travelling I have to do. The length of trainings don't justify the time I gotta spend on the public transportation. So, I feel like just being lazy and staying home x) Sounds like a great plan to me.

Halfway through studying, I suddenly felt like I should check my exam schedule all over again just in case my papers do start tomorrow instead of Tuesday. And the thought of having the Sociology paper first thing tomorrow morning gave me a minor panic attack because I'm not totally ready to face it yet. Thank goodness, everything is still under control, phew. I have no idea why, but I do not feel like it is the examination season nor have an inkling of the importance these papers carry with them. Was raining cats and dogs this evening. But it has stopped and the weather now is everything I can ask for to keep me company through the (presumably) long night ahead. It is such a pain trudging through the essay for the political science exposure module. With what comments I was given, I see little hope, zomg. I'm as stuck as stuck can be, and going in circles. Save me.

I'm slightly weighed down by school work (maybe slightly is a gross understatement) but this is the time I feel that I am able to see more clearly the things, little or not, that make me happier, make life beautiful, and matters more than certain pesky worries I possess. I enjoy the freedom I have now. And I have developed a strong liking for taking walks. Everytime I look a little harder and further, I always see something new even if it was a familiar environment. Pretty exciting much :) I have yet to click away the entire roll of film for the yellow camera though. Walking to the post office to send a snail mail is such joy. ♥

Am hoping the conducive weather remains. I still have a 1500 words essay to write, y'know. x_x

The weekend passes too fast. But arguably, it's been good with plenty of rest, family and one chapter of sociology down :) And I'm not complaining that time is passing quickly because I really wouldn't want to be stuck in this crazy part of the semester for a time longer than necessary. Plus we'll get to December much faster :)

Am already thinking of changing blogskin. I think it's the exam-is-coming alert within my biological system. I always get that urge nearing such periods haha. Means it is time to search for nice photos/ quotes so that I can get started once I hit post-exams.

I'm realising bit by bit how much work I need to accomplish within 4 weeks and zomg it is scary. >.<

The weekend was very relaxing :) Caught up on sleep which I was desperately lacking over the school week. I forsee another round of insane sleeping routine in hall starting tomorrow though rawr. People never sleep early (in the night) at hall, do we? Somehow, I'm not very stressed anymore even though I haven't completed the HY1101E essay and have a SN1101E test coming up. Which is good, I think. The time will come sometime midweek, I suspect, when everything rebounces back and unleashes at me with a vengeance zomg, no. And there is really a lot more deadlines to meet after that. But we can leave those to the next weekend.

Oh yes, and I bought film to fit into a holga (i think it is one) I had at home since ages ago but no one believes it works! Can't wait to shoot off all the shots, develop the film and see if the toy camera is still functioning/ what types of effects it has!

Am happy that there're sports trainings going on intermittently on weekday nights. I really enjoy them, particularly floorball. Keeps me active, healthy, um, happy. ^_^ Although I think I'm getting increasingly injury-prone and really need to watch what I'm doing. It is making me nervous the rate I feel my mechanical self wearing out like literally noooooooo.

I hope it rains on Tuesday. Cos' I'm gonna be in for most part of the day, awesomeness.

Somehow I think that I've been educated to think a different way from how I used to 2 months ago. I'm starting to see things in ways I've never before. Sometimes, it's fascinating, sometimes, it just makes me wonder if I'm weird. I can feel my perception changing, although all the same, I'm not quite sure what sort of change there is or how to describe it. There're a lot of questions popping up randomly with little answers. I was back at photofriday and got pulled back to when I first bumped into the site. And I remember the whole feeling of how much I really wanted to go out there and see for myself all the beautiful things in the world, and be the one taking those photos instead of the person in front of the screen. But I guess the page was as best as I could get and probably still is now. Except that photos which really tug at my heartstrings are fewer and further apart.

When I look out at the Pasir Panjang port, I really want to look beyond the horizon or trace to which ends of earth the containers are being shipped too. Do you know the skyline at the port really is pretty at night when the yellow lights line the waters?

But there's the Sociology textbook to complete reading, and tests to study for. And doing trivial stuff like daydreaming can always wait.

Ohlala tonight we have the let's-snuggle,-read-book-and-fall-asleep-under-thick-warm-blanket weather! ^_^

Got down to the initial stages of tidying up my room today. Finally, there's some proper space on the table for the old, cranky tablet to call its own. But but but, there's still a long long way to go. I don't actually think it possible that my room becomes all spruced up by the time school starts (if it can ever be orderly).

Haven't been doing a lot of exercising even though the last ENL match is just around the corner :/ Have, however, been doing lots of other enjoyable stuff like (!!) spending the afternoon just watching planes fly by last week.

Note to self: I really need to start catching up with current affairs, yikes.

The past couple of days have been good. Thursday night was spent lazing around and having a mini Eminem/music video marathon, haha :)

Then a lovely public holiday came and we caught the sunrise that waited for us. It was the first time in ages that I left house before daybreak. And I enjoyed being up early when it's still dark even if it was for that few minutes. The morning was so quiet and still, in a really nice, subtle way. All was beautiful, the sky, sea, planes, photos ... every part of the morning (well, excluding certain frightful moments).

(I really wouldn't mind waking up to enjoy mornings when it's still dim on a more frequent basis. Such feat doesn't come innately though, heh. Besides, what can I do with the remaining hours of the very long day?)

The tiring fun that happened in the afternoon was blading! Yes, my first attempt and I look forward to the next already :)

Caught Wolverine thereafter in the evening. Was so e x c i t i n g, I felt tired at the end thanks to the intensity of the attention I paid. I'm not about to become an X-Men/Wolverine fan because I'm not a fan of almost anything. However, it's a gratifying movie nonetheless.

Kenny Roger's MUFFINS and sushi concluded our day out, yum. ^_^

Re-watched The Lakehouse tonight. Reminds me of XR sitting at the edge of her seat the whole time at the cinema then x) Despite the many inevitable loopholes in logic, I like the show. Plus, I like the song, much. It's the type of movie that softly implants into your naive mind the ideal, that inconspicuously persuades you to think that all will work out just fine.

By the by, I dreamt last night. It was happy. But at best, it was my momentary comfort and ecstasy from a something that isn't coming. An event I'll cease waiting for because May, my cue to stop blindly hoping, has arrived.

P.S. After months of accumulated brain-rust, am I writing badly already? :/

I probably have been the most boring blogger for the past couple of weeks. It coincides with my rather mundane recent life that is getting expectedly routined. I'm not complaining though :) The respite from staple-removing leaves me with plenty of time to rest (that I never seem to get enough of haha).

Netball is always enjoyable :) And now there's this extra motivation/thrill to stretch that inch further, sprint that second faster and jump that centimeter higher cos' of the upcoming ENL. Trainings have been more intensive frequency-wise as well as physically. Umpiring intermittently with playing quarters are quite exhaustive plus I am admittedly lazy. But all is good, is good. :) I just hope the remaining trainings till the end of ENL won't wear me out too fast both in the physical sense and my love for the game. Playing with the aim of winning in mind is scary and it drains.

Driving is this exciting thing that thrills me. Maybe it's the thought of being able to operate this piece of machinery that is able to roll me over the distances fast. However the whole process in the midst of gaining that legal accreditation is so cumbersome. Pfft.

Being unemployed allows for more time with special person(s) ^_^ and other random fillers like reading and thinking.

Thinking of ways to reason myself out of unnecessary and irritating insecurities. Insecurities that could be so real yet so frivolous. I am such an unconvincing person but you are different. With you around, I can stop brimming with vulnerability.

But what if you fade into the distance? Become a virtual friend at best; a very familiar stranger but a stranger nonetheless. And it will be painful to drift apart, painful to mourn over it, and painful all the same to know that we may ever be able to get over it.

Then again, all those trivial assumptions are just unfounded fears that I need an outlet for to let them go. Distances are just made up of steps and similarly, time a bundle of seconds. They are intangibles that will remain superficial

to everything that means being us.

I once wondered what I'll be doing in a year's time. So I keyed in a reminder in my phone's calendar and the note faithfully popped up today even though I long forgot about it.

March 16 2008 9:10 p.m., I was sitting at my desk (supposedly) studying, and I was bursting to look slightly into my future.

March 16 2009 9:10 p.m., I have the answer to my curiosity a year ago. Was at Ethel's for her goodbye gathering where I ran up to Charmaine and laughed.

We have all grown.

And I'm trying to venture a guess on where I'll be in another 365 days. Sometimes I wish I could read my life like a book first because occassionally it seems like the present pauses for a while too long. But if so, where will the fun ever come?
